About the Company

Valore Partners is a software engineering firm dedicated to building and advancing the future of the digital world. The company specializes in the design, development, and implementation of clean, impactful software systems, delivering solutions that drive innovation and improve performance for its clients.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Architect-level Python/Perl Developer with expertise in Linux/Red Hat environments to join our team for a 2-month development project. The role focuses on updating and improving an existing codebase on legacy servers, which are set for upgrade or replacement. The successful candidate will utilize insights from an initial assessment to optimize the code, eliminate redundancies, and ensure a smooth transition to the updated infrastructure. This position is vital for modernizing systems and reducing risks linked to legacy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement updates and improvements to the codebase, primarily in Perl and Python, based on initial assessment findings

  • Address redundant, outdated, and critical components in the code to streamline and optimize the upgrade/replacement process

  • Develop and execute migration strategies, update legacy scripts, and ensure compatibility with new systems

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and provide technical guidance for system upgrades

  • Design, test, and implement new scripts or modify existing ones to improve system performance and reliability

  • Document changes, solutions, and technical findings clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ensure that all changes follow best practices in security, performance, and maintainability

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Principal Architect or Senior Developer with a focus on Python and Perl

  • Strong Linux background, especially in Red Hat, including system scripting and automation

  • Expertise in reverse engineering and forensic analysis of complex codebases

  • Experience with optimizing, refactoring, and modernizing legacy systems

  • Ability to work independently and manage complex projects with minimal supervision

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on detailed investigation and analysis

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for clearly documenting technical findings

Bonus Experience:

  • Familiarity with C# and its integration with other programming languages

  • Experience with large-scale server upgrades and replacements, including cloud migrations

  • Knowledge of legacy system risk management and mitigation techniques

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git

  • Prior experience in documenting complex codebases and creating technical documentation for legacy systems
